Serving the Community, Plattekloof. District Central received a panic signal from a service station in Plattekloof. Armed Response Officer Groenewald was dispatched. Upon arrival, he made contact with the manageress, who reported that a male was run over by his own vehicle. It was reported that the male left his car in gear, when he opened the bonnet and fiddled around to get the car started. His left leg was broken above the ankle and it appeared as if the left arm was also broken. Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene shortly after.

Plattekloof Crime Trend. An employee from a pet store in Plattekloof Village, Plattekloof, requested that the guard on duty press the panic button as a female just stole a small bag of pet food. She fled the scene with the help of a male in a silver, double cab bakkie. Armed Response Officer Bresler was dispatched and arrived at the premise at 18h24. It was reported that the female had entered the shop, left towards another shop and then returned and took the bag of food. When the employee asked her to return the bag, the suspect female got aggressive and rushed off towards the bakkie. The employee then attempted to stop the driver but he reversed too fast and got away. It was requested that SAPS be cancelled as they would go to the police station themselves.
