Armed Response Officer Weyers had informed Armed Response Officer Hugo regarding an intoxicate female running up Suikerbossie Street, Plattekloof. Upon arrival, he found the female on the property on the corner, screaming for one of the tenants to come out. Shortly after, Area Manager Opperman and Officer Weyers arrived at the scene. They requested that PWP fetch the tenant as it was reportedly her ex-byfriend. He stated that she was having difficulty with alcohol and had recently come out of rehab. He requested that SAPS be dispatched to remove her as she was becoming aggressive. Upon arrival, she refused the co-operated with the female officer, who called for assistance. After some time, officer arrived at the scene and she was placed inside the van and transported to Stikland Hospital for treatment.
At approximately 06h25 a member of OpenServe stopped Armed Response Officer Weyers in Letchworth Drive, Edgemead, to inform him of a suspicious male dressed in black walking down Thomas Bowler. When he drives passed the male he turns around and behaves suspiciously. Officer Weyers went to check and spotted the male in Barkley Way. When the male spotted Officer Weyers he made a run for it. Officer Weyers gave chase and followed him over Bosmansdam Drive into Potsdam street then into Klepper Road. Officer Weyers caught up with them male and detained him. The male was taken back to Barkley Road and was searched. A knife was found. SAPS were notified and arrived soon after to take the suspect away.
