Bothasig SAPF members arrested a black suspect man around
03H30 am after he broke the window of a vehicle that stopped at the red traffic light at
Bosmandams Street. The suspect man was found in possession with the hand bag and all the stolen property.
14 May 2012 -
Response officer's Butler and Smith arrested two colored woman at a local business in Monte Vista around
19H08 pm for shop lifting after the shop staff noticed the pair acting suspicious. Officer Butler entered the shop to find the woman still wandering around the shop. The security guard informed officer Butler that he saw the woman taking items from the shelves and putting it into their carry bags. Officer Butler called
Goodwood SAPF members for assistance in searching the suspects.
Goodwood SAPF members stood down after a while and after searching the suspect woman found several items from the shop on them to the value of approximately R 800.00. The two suspects were arrested for shoplifting.

Response officer Butler was patrolling near the corner of
Giel Basson Street and
Rothchild Avenue around
01H44 am when he noticed a suspect man walking down the road dressed in black. Officer Butler called
Parow SAPF members for assistance after the suspect could not give a valid reason for him being there. Officers also found several different vehicle keys on the suspect.
Parow SAPF members took the suspect man away for further investigation.
14 May 2012 -
Bothasig SAPF members arrested two black males who they had been following from the
Edgemead Centre.
SAPF members finally pulled the vehicle over on the
N7 and began to search the vehicle.
SAPF members found several tools and equipment used for house breaking's.
SAPF members took the suspects away for further investigation which they later informed us that the two suspects had pending cases against them.

Response officer Du
Toit was called to a local business in Monte Vista around
16H48 pm to assist them when a young colored male started to threaten the business owner and patrons. Officer Du
Toit called
Goodwood SAPF members for assistance after he arrived and found the young suspect banging violently on the doors and display windows.
Goodwood SAPF members arrived shortly afterwards and detained the suspect before he could hurt anyone. His ID indicated he was from a local
technicon. It appeared the suspect was under the influence of narcotics. He was taken away by
Goodwood SAPF for further investigation.

Laas was patrolling near the
Goodwood Correctional Services entrance in
Montaque Drive, Monte Vista, around
11H15 am when he noticed two suspicious looking men walking with a STOP street sign. As he approached the suspects he noticed they were busy breaking the metal sign up into smaller pieces. He called
Goodwood SAPF members for assistance. At that time a resident approached officer
Laas and told him the two suspects had stolen the sign nearby.
Goodwood SAPF members took the two suspects away for further investigation.

Response officer Du
Toit was patrolling in
Kronenburg Street, Monte Vista around
11H30 am when he noticed a suspicious white male who was acting strange and lying in the middle of the road. Officer Du
Toit called
Goodwood SAPF members for assistance after he tried to approach the man who by now was swearing and threatening officer Du
Toit.
Goodwood SAPF members arrived shortly afterwards and arrested the man for being under the influence of narcotics.
30 April 2012 -
While patrolling
Edgemead at
07H51 am officer Butler found a suspicious black male on the corner of
Westhoven Street and
Driebergen Street. Officer Butler approached the black male who seemed to be very nervous and making up different stories of what he is doing in the area. Officer butler called
Bothasig SAPF members for assistance in searching the suspect. They found several vehicle keys in his possession that can be used in stealing vehicles. The suspect admitted the keys did not belong to him. The suspect was taken away for further investigation.

Response officer
Laas was patrolling in
Fouche Street around
03H30 am in
Edgemead when a member of the public reported that someone was on her premise's roof. Officer
Laas responded and checked the premises but found nothing. While leaving the premises Officer
Laas noticed a suspicious red Mazda Midge leaving the scene. Officer
Laas called
Bothasig SAPF members for assistance and together they pulled the vehicle over. There was three colored males inside the vehicle of which two of them were hiding on the back seat. The three colored males were very nervous while being approached and all 3 had different stories of why they were in
Edgemead that time of the morning.
Bothasig SAPF members searched the three suspects and found various house break in implements on them. The suspects were taken away for further investigation.
Bothasig SAPF members later called back and told officer
Laas it was confirmed that the three colored males were positive for house breaking.
22 April 2012 -
While patrolling at
06H19 am in Monte Vista, officer Smith was approached by a member of the public who informed him that he had seen a colored male stealing electrical cables from a premises in
Sluysken Street . Officer Butler was first on the scene and checked the premises. He found a colored male lying in the garage pretending to be asleep. After further investigation officers found 2 bags of electrical cables in his possession and house breaking implements. Officers called
SAPF Goodwood for assistance and the suspect was taken away.
17 April 2012 -
Officer
Laas was patrolling in
Plattekloof around
09H54 am when he received a call from a resident in
Jasmyn Close regarding a suspect woman that jumped her neighbor's wall. Officer
Laas responded to the address given and found a lady outside matching the description given earlier by the resident. Officer
Laas noticed the suspect woman was appearing nervous and she had several bags with her. He alerted
Parow SAPF members for assistance. They arrived soon afterwards and searched the suspect woman's bags. Inside they found several clothing items, some still wet. The suspect admitted to stealing washing of the washing-lines from several houses.
Parow SAPF members took the suspect away for further investigation.
15 April 2012 -
Officer Stanley was patrolling in Burgundy Estate around
06H36 am when a member of the public approached him and explained how he saw a couple of suspect colored males jump over a wall in
Tygervalley Road. Officer Stanley responded to the location given and found the two men fitting the description given pushing two black refuse bins down the road. He stopped the suspect men and called
Bothasig SAPF members for assistance. The two colored males could not explain to
Bothasig SAPF members where they got the two bins from and was detained on suspicion for steeling the two refuse bins.

Officer Kruger was patrolling in
Giel Basson Drive around
01H23 am when he noticed two suspicious black men with dark clothing on, walking and looking over several house's walls. He called
Goodwood SAPF members for assistance and together they stopped the suspects. The suspect men each had several layers of clothing on and some items with them that could be used for house break in's.
Goodwood SAPF members took the two suspects away for further investigation as none of the men could give a valid reason why they were walking there. Monte Vista and
Welgelegen has had several house break in's at night time over the last couple of months.

Officer Smith was patrolling near the intersection of
Vryburger Ave and De
Grendal Street in
Bothasig around
23H13 pm when he noticed a suspicious looking man standing there. Officer Smith noticed the suspect looked drunk and approached him, asking if we could assist him in any way. The suspect became agitated and swore at officer Smith.
Bothasig SAPF members were called in to assist removing the suspect.

A resident in Gen

Welgelegen called response officers around
04H07 am for two black suspects fiddling with his vehicle. Officer Smith responded to the call out and on arrival was informed the two suspects had jumped into the
neighbour's premises.
Parow SAPF members were called to assist officer Smith in searching for the two suspects. After a while searching for the suspects they were found in Gen
JH Olivier Street and taken away by
Parow SAPF members for further investigation.

Response officer
Laas was patrolling in
Sluysken Street, Monte Vista around
09H38 am when he noticed a suspect colored man walking into a premises. When officer
Laas drove up to the premises he saw the suspect man fiddling with the side gate lock. He approached the suspect and after questioning him called
Goodwood SAPF members when the man could not give him any satisfactory answers. A concealed knife was confiscated from the suspect.

While on patrol around
14H40 pm a resident from
Imhoff Street in Monte Vista reported a colored male that was trying to steel electrical wires from her premises. Officer Du
Toit responded to the call out and on arrival was informed that the suspect had run away after he saw the owner watching him. Officer Du
Toit then patrolled the surrounding streets and found the suspect fitting the description in
Westerwyk Street.
Goodwood SAPF members were called for assistance.
SAPF members took the suspect away for further investigation.
9 April 2012 -
Officer
Laas was patrolling in
Westhoven Street,
Edgemead around
14H48 pm when he noticed a suspicious black man with a new travel bag over his shoulder scratching in a dustbin. Officer
Laas instructed the suspect man to open his bag to see what was in it. The bag contained new clothes and shoes that the suspect man could not explain how he got it. Officer
Laas called
Bothasig SAPF members for assistance when a call came through from a family in
Westhoven Street that complained one of their travel bags were stolen from their vehicle while unpacking after returning from holiday. The resident in
Westehoven Street identified the travel bag with the items inside as theirs.
Bothasig SAPF members arrested the suspect man for theft.
4 April 2012 -
A resident in Mika Street,
Welgelegen called response officers around
20H58 pm for assistance when she heard a noise at the back of her house. Response officer
Laas arrived at the address and after searching in the back yard found a colored suspect male trying to jump over the back wall. Officer
Laas called
Parow SAPF members who arrived minutes later and arrested the suspect man for trespassing.
31 March 2012 -
Response officers were alerted by a resident of Monte Vista of a colored male that had just broken into a house in
Sparman Ave around
16H02 pm. The suspect gained access into the house by using a wire to retrieve the house keys from a table inside the house. The home owner saw the suspect man whom in return fled the house with a laptop. Officer
Laas responded and found the suspect with a stolen laptop running a couple of blocks away from the scene towards
Welgelegen.The suspect tried to evade officers by jumping several property walls.
Parow SAPF members were called to assist officers catching the suspect. The suspect eventually ran into the
Welgelegen retirement village with response officers and
SAPF members right behind him. The suspect tried to jump over a palisade fence when he slipped and fell onto the sharp fence. It took several officers to help the injured suspect off the fence whom was cut by the sharp spikes.
28 March 2012 -
An aggressive drunk vagrant was arrested after
Parow SAPF members contacted response officers to assist them getting the suspect under control. Response officer
Groenewald assisted
SAPF members to subdue the suspect after he was searched and became aggressive. The suspect was arrested for drunk and disorderly behavior in public.
22 March 2012 -
Response officers were alerted by residents of two suspicious colored males walking in
Kwarts Street
Welgelegen. Response officer Butler responded to the call and en route to the location he was informed one of the suspects had jumped a wall into a premises. A short distance away from the address given in
Dolomiet Street he found the second suspect. He stopped the suspect man and was questioning him when he saw the second suspect running towards them. He stopped the second man as well and called
Parow SAPF members for assistance. The suspect men could not explain to officer Butler what they were doing in
Welgelegen or where they were going.
Parow SAPF members arrived on scene and took the suspect men away for further investigation. The premises where one of the suspects had jumped the wall was not broken into.
21 March 2012 -
Response officer Butler was patrolling Jim
Vorster Street when he noticed a black suspect man scratching in a dustbin. He instructed the man to leave the area. A while later he saw the same man in a different street in
Plattekloof one. He stopped the man and asked to search his bag.
SAPF Parow was also called for assistance. The man opened his bag and officer Butler found several screwdrivers and keys in his bag. The suspect could not explain where he found the equipment or what he was going to use it for. Officer Butler again called
SAPF Parow for assistance.
SAPF Parow never responded to both the call outs.
12 March 2012 -
While patroling Edgemead response officer Kruger was informed by a resident in Bains Way about a black man who was busy attacking his wife. Response officer Kruger arrived on the scene within minutes to find the man still busy hitting his wife. He called Bothasig SAPF members for assistance after he broke up the fight. SAPF members took the suspect to Bothasig Police station for further investigation.
7 March 2012 -
A coloured man was arrested for shoplifting in Monte Vista. A local business called response officers around 11H25 am when they noticed a man acting suspicious in their shop. Response officer Smith stood down at the shop with in minutes. Officer Smith took the suspect man to the back of the shop for questioning after staff pointed him out. The suspect confessed to officer Smith that he did steal items from the shop and took out 15 bottles of deoderant from his pockets. Goodwood SAPF members were called to arrest the suspect for theft and he was taken away.
7 March 2012 -
Two coloured woman from Elsies River was arrested for theft of brass house numbers in Plattekloof Glen. A alerted home owner noticed the suspicious woman fiddling around a house at 15H02 pm and called response officers, giving them a full detailed discription of the woman and their clothing, to come and investigate. General manager Verschoor responded with officers to the scene and started to canvas the area when he noticed the susepcts had left the premises allready. Verschoor was driving to the exit of Plattekloof Glen when he noticed the suspects fitting the same discription as given before on Giel Basson brigde. He stopped the suspects and found numerous brass house numbers in their possession. Goodwood SAPF members were called to arrest the suspect woman and took them away for theft.
6 March 2012 -
A coloured man was arrested for having presumable stolen property in his possession. Operations manager Horstman was patrolling with PWP Neighborhood Watch members around 21H30 pm when he noticed a suspicious looking man carrying a heavy object leaving Panorama over Giel Basson brigde. Horstman called Parow SAPF members to assist after he approached the suspect man and noticed he was carrying a computer with equipment. Parow SAPF members took the suspect away for further investigation when he could not account from where he got the computer and equipment from.
5 March 2012 -
A young black suspicious man was detained by response officers and taken away by Bothasig SAPF members on suspicion for house break-ing. While patrolling Edgemead around 00h34 am response officer Butler noticed a suspicious man near the corner of Koornhoop Street and Bosmandam Road. He approached the man whom started to react in a suspicious manner. Officer Butler called Bothasig SAPF members for assistance whom arrived minutes later. Together they searched the suspect man and found in his possesion house break-in tools and narcotics. The suspect was taken away by SAPF members to the police station for furher investigation.
1 March 2012 -
Two men were arrested for attempted house-breaking in Monte Vista at 22H57 pm. An alert neighbor called response officers after he noticed two suspicious men entering his neighbor's yard. Response officer Laas responded. Enroute he noticed two suspects fitting the same discription as given to them by the neighbor running towards Monte Vista bridge. He called Goodwood SAPF members for assistance, who helped him to stop the two suspects. SAPF members tested the suspects on their crim data base and found the men are wanted for outstanding warrants. Officer Laas drove back to the house from where the suspects had run from and found two windows broken. Goodwood SAPF members arrested the two suspects and took them away.

A 54 year old black woman was arrested in Monte Vista for house-breaking. Operations manager Horstman and general manager Verschoor responded to the call for a house-breaking in progress from our Central Station. The husband saw a suspicious woman entering his premises. When he went to investigate he found the back door open and his wife's handbag missing. He called District Watch for assistance. Enruite to the adress Horstman and Verschoor noticed the suspicious woman pretending to scrath in a dustbin around the corner from the given adress. She matched the same discription given by the home owner. The suspect led Horstman and Verschoor to the stolen handbag and wallet after she was questioned. Goodwood SAPF was called to arrest the suspect woman.

Three black men were arrested and linked to several house-breaking's in Edgemead last night. Bothasig SAPF noticed a suspicious taxi driving around in Edgemead in the early morning hours and decided to investigate. They instructed the taxi to pull over. SAPF officers questioned the driver and the occupants and found them in possesion of possible items stolen at a previous house-breaking. The men confessed to a house-breaking in Edgemead. Bothasig SAPF has linked the three suspects to several house-breaking's in Edgemead.

Two white woman were arrested today for house break in and armed robbery in Burgundy Estate.
An alert resident informed Response officer Marc that he thinks something suspicious was going on at a premises. Officer Marc responded to investigate. On arrival he found the premises was burgled. Through hard work and innovative detection work from Bothasig SAPF members and District Watch staff they found the house was burgled by the same two woman that was terrorising citizens in the suburb. The same two suspects would drive up to woman walking alone and then rob them at gun point from their possesions. With the help of technology the SAPF members could link the two suspects to the armed robberies and the house break in. The same technology was used to trace the two suspects to a hotel near Cape Town airport. District Watch personel and Bothasig SAPF members responded and arrested the two suspects in their hotel room. Narcotics, cellphones, money and a firearm was recovered from their hotel room.

Two coloured males were arrested in Bothasig today for dealing in narcotics. While patroling armed response officer Butler noticed a suspicious white bantam bakkie parked on the corner of Arkel Street and Tafelberg Street in Bothasig. He called Bothasig SAPF members for assistance to help investigate. Together they approached the vehicle and found the two males dealing in narcotics. Narcotic paraphernalia was also found in the vehicle.

Two coloured males were arrested in Burgundy Estate today for a business break in at the Bunker Bar in Burgundy Estate. They gained access into the premises by breaking through a back window. One plasma television screen was stolen.

A black man was arrested for breaking into a vehicle in Monte Vista Boulavard. The suspect was noticed by a vigilant resident when she noticed he was fiddeling with vehicles parked at a local shopping centre. Response officers responded to the callout. Response officers found the suspect in a vehicle after arriving on the scene. Goodwood SAPS was called in for assistance.
27 November 2011 -
Three coloured males were arrested during the evening in Edgemead for several house break ins. An Edgemead resident alerted response officers to a suspicious silver Mazda 323 with three occupants driving around in Edgemead at around 21H47. Response officer Hennie caught up with the vehicle in Menlo Cresent. He immediately noticed the registration number is the same number we have been looking for. (Reported under crime trends 17 November 2011) The vehicle make, colour and model was also the same as previously reported. Officer Hennie proceded to follow the vehicle heading towards Monte Vista and called Goodwood SAPS for assistance. After a short chase the suspicious vehicle was eventually cornered in Vasco Boulevard, Goodwood by officer Hennie and three Goodwood SAPS vehicles. The three occupants were arrested for house break ins from Elsies River, Goodwood, Plattekloof Glen, Monte Vista and Edgemead.

Three black males were arrested for vehicle mag theft in Edgemead. Members from the Edgemead Neighborhood Watch was patrolling the streets of Edgemead when they noticed a suspicious white Opel Astra parked in Bains Way in the early morning hours. They called SAPS Bothasig for assistance. SAPS members arrived and together they approached the vehicle. There was three occupants in the vehicle. They could not explain why they were there. This led SAPS members to search the vehicle. In the boot of the vehicle they found wheel spanners and bricks. The same bricks was used a night before for stealing mags off a vehicle in Ceylon Street, Bothasig.

Three black males were arrested for house breaking in Edgemead. Members from the Edgemead Neighbourhood Watch were patrolling Denison Way when the noticed three suspects looking into houses. They started to follow the suspects. They noticed the three suspects was walking around in circles. They called SAPS Bothasig for assistance. SAPS members arrived and questioned the suspects. The suspect's bags was searched after they could not explain why they were in Edgemead or where they were going. House break in paraphernalia was found in their bags.
22 November 2011 -
Five black males were arrested in Kleinbosch for house break in. While taking part in a cluster crime prevention operation Bothasig SAPS members noticed a suspicious Toyota Avanza driving around in Kleinbosch. They stopped the vehicle to question the two occupants and noticed a flatscreen Tv in the vehicle. While questioning the two occupants SAPS members were informed that they had dropped three black males of at a house in kleinbosch. SAPS members went to the address given by the suspects, on arrival they found the front door had been kicked in and the house burgled. While investigating the scene the neighbours came to the SAPS members and informed them their house had also been burgled. With clothes discription of the remaining three suspects at hand SAPS members started to patrol Kleinbosch and Welgelegen looking for them. SAPS members found the suspects fitting the discriptions running down Malmesbury Road. They were arrested for housebreak in.

Around 10h57 AM a member of the public called District Watch for assistance when she heard glass break outside her house and saw two black males running away from her premises. On arival response officers found a window broken. They immediately called Parow SAPS for assistance and send a clothes discription out to the other response vehicles. Fifteen minutes later one of the response vehicles patrolling nearby noticed a suspicious black male fitting the same discription. Parow SAPS arrested the suspect for attempted house breakin after the home owner identified the suspect as one of the suspects that tried to breakin at her house.

One coloured man was arrested today after he was found with possible stolen goods on him.
Response officers were patrolling the streets of Monte Vista on dustbin day when they noticed a man behaving suspicious. After questioning the man on his reason for walking around aimlesly it was found that he was looking into dustbins for something to eat. He allowed response officers to search his bag and they found new looking electric motors. The suspect could not account where he found the items and officers called Goodwood SAPS for assistance. He was arrested and taken away by SAPS members for possesion of possible stolen goods.
3 November 2011 -
Response officers were called out to Monte Vista Kwikspar for two black men suspected of stealing from the shop. The suspects saw the response officers stop at the shop and started to run. Both suspects were caught. Officers found ten tins of Nescafe coffee in their possesion. SAPS Goodwood was called for assistance. Both suspects were taken away for shop lifting by Goodwood SAPS.
27 October 2011 -
Response officers were called by a alert neighbour when he saw a male suspect running from a premises near he's house. Officers found the suspect and decided to follow him for a while. He then walked into another premises. After a couple of minutes the house alarm activated. Response officers quickly moved into the premises and caught the suspect before he could run away. Goodwood SAPS was called in for assistance. Goodwood SAPS took the man away on suspicion of house breakin. OB No. 738/10
20 October 2011 -
Three white males were arrested this afternoon for theft out of a property in Panorama. Being released on bail two days earlier didn't stop these men from coming back to Panorama and comitting a crime. District Watch response officers were alerted to three men acting suspicous in Alk Van Zyl Street. Response officers found the men walking towards the garage in Elvy Street. The men saw the response officers and started running. Three response vehicles chased them and conered two of the males in a property next to the N1. The third suspect ran towards the N1 and a fourth response vehicle cought him. SAPS Parow was contacted for assistance. Parow SAPS members questioned the men and found they had stolen two gas bottles from a property not far from where they were cornered. SAPS members arrested the men and took them away. OB No. 426/10
27 September 2011 -
Response officers responded to an alarm in Gen. Piet Cronje Street. Turning into the Street response officers noticed a red mazda, registration number CY 139 125 leaving the vicinity of where the alarm was going off. A second response vehicle followed the suspect car and called Parow SAPS for assistance. Parow SAPS and response officers pulled the suspect vehicle over. SAPS members searched the vehicle and found items on them they could not account for. The first response vehicle by this time reported back that the house was broken into. The items in the vehicle was linked to the same house. Two black males and a female were arrested and taken away by Parow SAPS for house breaking. OB No. 828/09

While patrolling at Giel Basson bridge response officers noticed three black males behaving suspicious. Response officers called Parow SAPS for assistance. SAPS members searched the suspects and found stolen credit cards in their posession. The three suspects were taken away by SAPS members for further questioning. OB No. 803/09
25 September 2011 -
One suspect was arrested today after he had broken into two houses in Monte Vista. District Watch officers was following the suspect when he saw them and started to run. Response officers called Goodwood SAPS for assistance. He tried to flee but with District Watch hot on his heels he had nowhere to run. Four response vehicles cornered the man in Rotterdam Street Monte Vista. He was detained till Goodwood SAPS members arrived. They searched the man and found possible stolen jewelry and a cellphone on him. He was taken back to the street where he was seen first. On arrival a resident from Buitendag Street Monte Vista stopped the armed response officers and SAPS members and informed them that her house was burgled. It was found that the items on the suspect belonged to the resident after she could give a detailed discription of items stolen from her house. The second home owner who's house was burgled was traced by calling a friend from the cellphone found on the suspect.

One coloured male was arrested today after shoplifting from Monte Vista Engen garage.
District Watch officers was dispatched to Monte Vista Engen Garage after they saw a man busy stealing from the shop. On arrival Response officers found the suspect running towards a get away vehicle. The surrounded the vehicle and escourted the suspect back to the shop where he was positively identified. Repsonse officers called Goodwood SAPS for assistance and detained the man till their arrival. The SAPS members questioned the man and after searching through his clothes found stolen items on him from the shop. He was arrested and taken away by SAPS Goodwood.
6 September 2011 -
Response officers were called out at 16H52 in Monte Vista today when a black male robbed two school bys of their belongings. Enroute one of the response officers saw a suspect matching the description given. The suspect was detained and Goodwood SAPS was called for assistance. A cellphone belonging to one of the school boys was found on the suspect. The suspect was arrested robbery. OB No. 205/09
12 August 2011 -
One suspect was arrested today after a attempted vehicle hi-jacking on the N7 near Bothasig. The passenger of the vehicle got away. SAPS members of Bothasig informed District Watch response officers to be on the lookout for a Ford Focus vehicle with two black male occupants. Their last direction was towards Monte Vista or Goodwood. Ten minutes later Flying squad members, Bothasig SAPS and District Watch officers picked the vehicle up in Monte Vista. A chase ensued and after losing control of the vehicle on a sharp bend ended up against a tree in Borghorst Street. Both occupants of the vehicle fled the scene into nearby properties. SAPS members and District Watch members cordened of the block and then systematically started clearing properties. One suspect was found hiding behind a dustbin. He was arrested and taken away by SAPS members.

Bothasig crime trend. There is an increase in motor vehicles being broken into after several cases were reported in and around Abe
Sher Stadium. Residents need to be more alert when parking
thier vehicle's and to report any suspicious vehicles or persons in the surrounding area to your local
SAPF station.

Monte Vista crime trend. Response officers reported a house breaking in
Borghorst Street. The suspects gained access to the house and stole several items.
Goodwood SAPF members who happened to be on patrol nearby did a random stop and search of the suspects when they found the stolen goods on them. The suspects later admitted to breaking into the house in
Borghorst Street.
Several smash and grabs were reported to response officers on Monte Vista bridge. The suspects are believed to be young black or colored males wearing dark clothing. Both incidents occurred during the day time.

Bothasig Crime trend. Several house break ins were reported to officers in Adam
Tas Street and The Cables,
Vryburger Street. In both incidents access into the houses were gained through windows and several items including jewelry, cameras and
DvD machines were stolen.
One smash and grab incident was reported on
Bosmandam Road. A laptop computer was stolen.

Edgemead crime trend. Several cases of robbery have been reported to
Bothasig SAPF. Several primary school children heading to
Edgemead Primary School in the morning have been robbed from their
cellphones. No arrests have been made yet.

Monte Vista crime trend. Three young boys were robbed from their cell phones in
Montaque Drive around
17h15 pm by two black men in a cream
bakkie while they were walking from a friends house back to theirs. The suspect men stopped next to the boys and asked them for directions when the robbery took place.

22H41 pm to assist when residents noticed a company vehicle from Fish For Africa burning at the business premises.
Goodwood SAPF members were called to the scene. It appears that the vehicle was the target of a petrol bomb. No injuries were reported.

12H18 pm to be on the lookout for two men that attempted to break into a house in
Sering Street Panorama. The suspects did not gain access into the house and nothing was stolen from the property.

Bosmandam High School was robbed from her cell phone while she was walking home after school though a nearby alley by two colored males. No clear description of the suspects could be given.

Plattekloof resident in Pen
Kotzer Street woke up when they heard burglars breaking into their home around
05H10 am. They called response officers to come through and assist them. Officer Butler stood down minutes later with
Parow SAPF members. They searched the house and premises but the suspects had left already. Several items including laptops were stolen from the house.

Edgemead crime trend. Response officer Kruger was alerted by a resident around
21H38 pm of a vehicle burning in Link Way
Edgemead behind a church. Officer Kruger responded and stood down within minutes of receiving the call.
Goodwood Fire and Rescue was also dispatched. Residents reported seeing two youngsters fleeing the scene towards the
N7. Officer Kruger patrolled the vicinity but could not find the suspects. The vehicle was destroyed by the fire.

Panorama crime trend. Response officer's reported an increasing amount of vagrants and suspicious people next to Delmar Centre. Operations manager
Horstman held a crime prevention operation around
09H00 am when they found and confiscated narcotics hidden in electrical boxes.
Parow SAPF members was called for assistance.

Plattekloof Glen crime trend. Response officers reported seeing several metal drain covers stolen in
Ambleside Cresent and
Blythwood Cresent. A blue or white Mazda
bakkie is suspected to be involved.

Monte Vista crime trend. Response officer's were alerted by a resident when she saw three suspect men jump over her back wall around
03H40 am in
Rooy Park Complex. Response officer's
Laas and
Groenewald responded. Officer's searched the residents back yard but could not find anything. Minutes later an alarm activation came through from a business premises next door. Officer's investigated and noticed what seemed to be a break in.
Goodwood SAPF members were called for assistance. Suddenly three suspects jumped from the roof of the business and ran towards
Parow. Officer's chased after the suspect men but lost them in
Parow North. The owner of the business premises was informed about the break in and arrived shortly afterwards. Officer's continued patrolling the surrounding areas but the suspects evaded arrest.

Officer Stanley was patrolling near Checkers in Burgundy Estate around
15H22 pm when he noticed a four year old child, still dressed in his pajamas walking down
Tygervalley Road. He stopped the child and tried to ask him where he lives and where he was walking too, but the child could not answer Officer Stanley. Officer Stanley called
Bothasig SAPF members for assistance. Together with security from Checkers we found out the child lives in Zinfandel complex. He was eventually returned to his house where his uncle was not even aware that the child was missing. Good team work from
SAPF members and officer Stanley.

Edgemead crime trend. A domestic worker saw three black men break into a house in
Cuylerhof Street around
11H32 am. She alerted the owner of the house where she works who in return informed response officers. Officer's
Groenewald,
Venter and Smith arrived on scene and found the suspects had already left. The suspect men drove a Golf IV, dark blue or black in color with the word "
soundmatch" written on the back window. A flat s
creen Tv, laptop, camera equipment and jewelry was stolen.

SAPF members asked response officers to keep an eye out for a white
bakkie, model unknown. Registration number CY 376 40 with four colored suspects inside. They are believed to be involved in house
breakings in the area.

Monte Vista crime trend. Response officer Kruger noticed a suspicious looking vehicle parked at a business in Monte Vista around
13H30 pm while patrolling and asked officer Butler to assist him with investigating the vehicle. Together they approached the vehicle and found three black men sitting inside. They asked the men, that had been sitting there for a while already, whether they were waiting for someone. The men explained they were lost and had to be in
Richwood for a delivery. Officer Butler called
SAPF Goodwood for assistance when he noticed two of the men started to behave suspicious.
SAPF Goodwood arrived on scene and after questioning the men further found possible stolen goods in their vehicle. They were arrested and taken away by
SAPF Goodwood.
21 March 2012 -
Panorama crime trend. Response officers were alerted to a house breaking in President Brand Street Panorama around
02H00 am. Response officers Smith and
Groenewald stood down at the scene within minutes and found one of the back aluminum windows were damaged. It seemed that the suspects did not gain access into the house. Officers started to patrol the vicinity to see if they could find anyone walking around.
Parow SAPF members were also dispatched to patrol the area. An hour later a second call came through from
Mentz Street where residents heard suspicious noises coming from a property. Response officers Smith and
Groenewald were around the corner and went to investigate. Officers found the front lounge window was taken out and the suspects, that already fled the scene, had entered the house and stolen two laptops.

Monte Vista crime trend. While on patrol Reponse officer Smith was alerted to a house breaking in Plettenberg Street around 13H53. Arriving on scene the resident showed officer Smith how the suspects gained access to the house. The window was forced open and the burglar bar was forced out. The suspects stole jewelry and a safe from the house.

Bothasig crime trend. Response officers reported a house breaking in Spilbergen Street. The suspects broke through the patio door to gain access into the house. Small items were stolen including jewelry.

Plattekloof crime trend. Response officers were patrolling with the PWP Neighborhood Watch around 20H49 when they were alerted by Parow SAPF members about a suspicious white Mazda 626 vehicle with two black occupants inside in Braambos Street Plattekloof. Several house breakings have been reported in the vicinity of Braambos Street in recent weeks. Response officers Kruger and Butler responded to the scene. A neighbour told them the two suspects had been sitting under the tree with baraclavas on for a while till they noticed the resident watching them. The suspects jumped into their vehicle and left before the response officers arrived.

Edgemead crime trend. Response officers were alerted to be on the lookout for two black suspects believed to be involved in a armed house robbery in Coetzenberg Street around 01H53 am. The suspects gained access to the premises using a crowbar. The house alarm was set and activated when the suspects entered the house. After entering the house they attacked the home owners who was injured by the attack and stole one laptop. The suspects fled the scene on foot and by running across a neighbor's house roof. Similar cases have been reported in Bothasig.

Plattekloof crime trend. Residents in Plattekloof Ext 3 was woken up this morning when two suspects broke into their house and stole two laptops. Response officer Dean was called to assist the family when they heard someone trying to kick down their study door. The suspects gained access to the premises after the door gave way and stole two laptops from the study table. The suspects used the nature reserve to run away. Officer Dean called Parow SAPF members to assist him to look for the suspects but they could not find the suspects. No persons have been arrested

Plattekloof Glen crime trend. Residents in Ambleside Cres called response officers to assist them after they found their house was burgled. The suspects gained access to the premises through a broken window. A laptop, camera, cellphones and jewelry was stolen.

Bothasig crime trend. Two young boys and a girl was attacked near Richwood at approximately 01H17 am. The teenagers were attacked by a black suspect man brandishing a knife while they were on their way to a party. The suspect threatened the teenagers and stole their cellphones and money. The two boys stopped response officer Bryan and asked for assistance. Officer Bryan notified Bothasig SAPF members and returned with the boys to the scene. SAPF members arrived shortly afterwards. No arrests have been made.

Bothasig crime trend. Several black munisipality refuse bins have been stolen in Van Der Stael street, Van Breugel Street and Van Vrede street. It is possible these bins were stolen to be used after a house break in to transport stolen items in.

Monte Vista crime trends. We have seen a increase of theft incidents on Monte Vista brigde. 5 incidences were reported to our officers where the victims were robbed from their cellphones and money. The suspects are young black males and they attack usually between the hours of 19H30 and 20H30 in the evening.

Monte Vista crime trends. Several house break ins were reported in Huising Avenue and Plattekloof Street to our central station. A suspicious white Isuzu bakkie with two coloured males inside was noticed at two of the house break ins. It is believed they pretend to be refuse collectors with rubble on the back of the bakkie. Once they have broken in they would then hide the stolen goods under the ruble.

A silver Toyota Avanza with three coloured males inside is suspected to be involved. Theses house break ins ocurred in day time and at night. Burgundy crime trend. At approximately 21h10 the Bunker bar in Burgundy Estate had a smash and grab. The suspects gained access to the clubhouse by breaking through a window. Goodwood crime trend. Possibly the same armed men that was involved in blowing-up an ABSA ATM in Bellville last week is responsible for an ATM bombing in Goodwood this morning. Three heavily armed black men is believed to be involved. They usually operate from 02h00 to 05h00 in the morning.
Possible vehicles used in these crimes are a white BMW 3 series CA 914 932, black BMW CA 474 987, blue BMW CA 456 567, grey VW Golf 6 series no registration available and a White Honda Prelude, also no registration available.

Plattekloof Glen crime trend. Response officers were dispatched to Ambleside Cresent to assist a resident after he returned home and found his house was broken into. Officers Juan and Bryan stood down at his house within minutes. They found his back door had been forced open and a part of the security gate broken open. The resident found his laptop was stolen. Their has been numerous house break ins in Ambleside Cresent and Westerwijk Place where the suspects gain access to the premises from the N1 side of the wall.

Goodwood crime trend. Three black men driving a white Citi golf is reported to be involved in bussiness break in's in Goodwood. SAPS Goodwood reports back the suspects gain access into shops at night after closing by breaking the display glass doors or windows. They steal sigarettes. Entry into the houses were gained after the window frames and the glass panes were removed. Flat screen Tv's, computer equipment and celphones were stolen. Plattekloof and surrounds. Currently there is a group of about 7 black males breaking into the houses adjacent to Tygerberg nature reserve. Their nationality is unknown at this time. No vehicles are used in this crime. They walk through the wine farms from the Dunoon informal settlement. They then walk through the nature reserve undetected till they reach the houses in Plattekloof. From there they can view and plan which houses to breakin to. Access into houses are gained from taking out window panes. They will steal LCD screens, plasma screens, laptops, cellphones and jewelery.

We have noticed an increase of vehicle theft and theft out of vehicles at Shoprite Centre and Edgemead shopping centre. Please ensure that you have locked your vehicle before entering the shopping centre's. Do not leave any valuables in your vehicle as this only encourages them to break-in to your vehicle. There has been smash and grabs on both Plattekloof bridge and Plattekloof Glen bridge over the last couple of weeks while the motorists are waiting for the traffic lights to change. Please do not keep any valuables and or hand bags on your passenger seat. Rather keep these items in the boot of your vehicle or behind the passenger seat on the floor. The suspect wont be able to see what you have placed there. Please contact your security service provider or local SAPS if you notice anything suspicious.

District Watch response officers have found an influx of vagrants on dustbin day in Bothasig. Please do not leave any food on your dustbin as this only incourages them to keep coming back. District Watch response officers was called in to assist when a container housing building material caught alight in Burgundy Estate. Response officers called the fire brigade whom stood down within minutes.
The container was gutted by the blaze. No people were injured.

A white Citi Golf was written off in a car accident where one teenager lost his life and two other teenagers barely survived in Giel Basson Street Monte Vista. The vehicle was traveling towards Parow when the driver lost control of his vehicle. A customer of District Watch heard the accident and called their office to report the accident. Response officer Dean responded and arrived on scene within seconds. Officer Juan assisted and imediately called ER24 for further assistance. Together response officers and paramedics provided life support for the three accident victims. Netcare and Fire & Rescue arrived on scene to provide additional support. The three accident victims were stabilized and taken to hospital.

PWP neighborhood watch had their joint operation with District Watch last night and moved 40 vagrants out of the Panorama and Welgelegen area. We urge all residents to please not leave food out for vagrants as this only engourages them to come back.
